Dave has been involved in Martial Arts for over 26 years. First enrolling in Karate at age 15, Dave progressed to Jeet Kune Do, and then Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Dave is currently a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Daniel Gazoni (Brazilian Top Team) and a certified Kru under the tutelage of Ajarn Nelson Siyavong. Some of Dave’s past achievements are:

At the age of 29, Dave successfully established a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program at Keene State University (the first of its kind), and had overseen it for 3 years. In 2009, Dave tried out and was selected for the Premier Martial Arts National Fight Team.

Dave has studied under or trained with many great Martial Artists including, UFC fighters, Murillo Bustamante, John Howard, B.J. Penn, Jim Miller, Rafaello Oliveira, Rousimar Palhares, as well as Renzo Gracie, Rafael Correa, Roberto Correa, Takeo Tani, Caio Terra, Jeff Jimmo, Dave Ginsberg, Roberto Maia, Abmar Barbosa.

Brazilian Top Team is a world renowned name in both Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and the sport of MMA. The team and its coaches have helped pioneer BJJ and MMA into the forefront of combat sports.

BTT Boston is the first Brazilian Top Team in the United States. The academy offers a variety of classes ranging from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to Muay Thai. The program is directed by head coach and instructor Daniel Gazoni. Professor João Amaral ( Brazilian Top Team Boca Raton ), 5th degree black belt and Prof. Daniel, a 4th-degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu opened BTT Boston in 2003.
